update & more research

I have chosen The Amazon for the main river I am going to structure my website around though i will have a page for general facts about rivers which might include some different rivers The Amazon is going to be the main one.

Because I am choosing this river i want to make a jungle type theme for my website. The amazon is in South America and is surrounded by hundreds and thousands of trees and wild life I think it would be a good idea to incorporate this into my design idea.

The Amazon is home to more species of plants and animals than any other terrestrial ecosystem on the planet -- perhaps 30% of the world's species are found there.

The types of things I could include are

Jaguars

+ They are excellent swimmers, and they enjoy being in the water.
+ They are also skilled at climbing and fishing.
+ Typically forests, but also woodlands and grasslands, preferring areas that are close to water; South America, dense rainforests of the Amazon Basin.

Water Lily:

The water-lily is the largest flower in the world. It can grow up to 6 feet long. Though it is large, it weighs very less. It can float on water in the Amazon lakes and rivers. There are so many water lilies growing together that they form a type of solid floor over the entire lake.

Orchids:

The orchids are known for their beauty and strong fragrance. You will find hundreds of orchid species in the Amazon rainforest. They are known to survive for long without water. They produce hundreds and thousands of seeds that are carried by the wind throughout the Amazon rainforest for propagation.
The common squirrel monkey (Saimiri sciureus):

The common squirrel monkey can be found primarily in the Amazon Basin

anaconda snakes

An anaconda is a large, non-venomous snake found in tropical South America

Toucan:

A very popular Amazon rainforest bird, it's used as commercial icon
It has a lifespan of around twenty years and can grow up to 25 inches (64 cm) long, living in flocks of 5 to 6 birds high up in the canopy of the Amazon rainforest.
