Creating Game Vectors

The first vector for my game i started to create was the sling shot game because i had a good idea of what it was going to look like. The plan was to have the bulmers bottles on pillers/stands, because depending on which one you hit and knock down depends on the points you get, so i thought of doing the stands in different colours which shows the different levels easy, medium and hard (also the stands would have the points clearly on the front) but the longer i looked at this i found it to be childish and wanted to change the colours some how.

So when I thought of having the stands as wood to make it look more realistic and you instantly know what it is, when trying to paint on a wood effect it didnt look very good it was pretty much the same at the image above but instead the colour would be brown with some brush strokes. After doing this i searched for free wood textures that I could place behind the shape and (object > make) which gave a really good effect. The image below is the image i used and here is the link http://www.bittbox.com/freebies/free-hi-resolution-wood-textures

The stands finally look like this and i think it works really well. I placed the bottles sightly behind the stands to give a better effect that the bottles are standing on it. I also gave the bottles a shadow which i think works but im not sure if i should give the  stands a shadow, I want them to look a little more 3D but I will play around with it after i add the background.

When i added the background i personally think it brought my work to life in a way, It makes it more eye catching, bright and fun. I still think i need too add an effect to the stands which i will continue to work on until i find one that works.

This game would be the second round of the app.
